No, a prescription is not required to purchase Pharmacy Own Products. Please speak with your pharmacist if you have any questions.

What is the difference between a PHARMACY MEDICINE and a PHARMACIST ONLY MEDICINE?

Pharmacy Medicines are medicines that can be purchased in pharmacies without needing a pharmacist’s advice.
Pharmacist Only Medicines are medicines that can be purchased from a pharmacy under the direction of a pharmacist who will ensure the medicine is appropriate and will be used safely and correctly.

Will Pharmacy Own® products be as effective as the brands I’ve always used?

Pharmacy Own® products work in the same way as other recognised brands as they contain the same active ingredient, dose and delivery format. All medicines sold in Australian pharmacies, must meet the same strict standards of quality, safety and effectiveness.

What is the difference between Pharmacy Own® and branded products?

Pharmacy Own® offers the same quality as branded products, with same formulation and delivery format.

Can Pharmacy Own® products be given to children?

Some of the Pharmacy Own® range is recommended for children. Please refer to the dosage information on the carton which will outline the appropriate dosage recommendation for your child before administering. Please speak with your pharmacist if you have any questions.
